And so it begins...

Finally starting the card making blog I have been wanting to do forever! I have been scrap-booking and crafting for over 15 years and really enjoy the crafting community, so I decided to jump in.  I have uploaded some photos of an in-lay card I created with the Simon Says Stamp January kit. I also played with making shaker cards with the stamp set included in the kit.  Those are the cutest snowflakes!

I used Memory Box snowflake dies and a Darice embossing folder.  I learned it is easier to insert the small piesces if you lay the die cut object from the card portion over the inserted object and use a pin to poke the small inserts into the inlay.  I put the die cut blue snow flakes over the patterned snowflake that was inserted in the card design.  I took a pin and poked the small, blue pieces out of the blue flake and into the patterned paper flake.  Worked like a charm and I didn't lose any pieces!
